Description

Excessive heat can cause resins in your brake pad to vaporize or "outgas." As the brake pad wears, the used friction material turns into a fine dust. This boundary layer of heat, gas and dust builds up between the pad and rotor surfaces and inhibits performance. Here's where Power Slot's slotted brake rotors make a big difference. Power Slot's exclusive Vac-U-Slots are machined into the rotor and help evacuate gasses and dust, shed heat, and keep the brake pad surface clean. And in wet, raining conditions, our Vac-U-Slot helps push water off the braking surface for better stopping power. For most late model truck and SUV applications and select sports cars, we also use a special Power Alloy metallurgy and directional cooling vanes to improve high temperature performance.

I bought all new/rebuilt Zinc Dichromate platted (extremely toxic btw - banned in all of EU; thanks George W. for killing OSHA and the EPA here in the States) calipers from Centric as well, and I'm extremely pleased with the way they look. I'm still breaking in the new rotors, Hawk HPS front pads and Pepboys ceramic rear pads, and the Centric calipers - the stopping power seems to increase as I break them in. So far they don't stop any better than stock when I had HPS pads all around, but I might need to bleed the brakes one more time to make sure I have gotten all the air out of the brake system. I also switched to DOT 4 ATE Type 200 Amber Brake Fluid. I've had them for only 1 week so my review needs updating in the future when I can truly review these rotors. Oh, rust does form on the slots in the rotors, and theoretically they should perform much better when abused.
